The historic brick building at 186 North 6th Street in North Williamsburg had long been known as an educational institution until the building was severely damaged by a three-alarm fire in 1982. Boricua College, a notable former resident, has since moved on, and 186 North 6th Street is turned residential. It is one block away from the Bedford Avenue subway stop, not to mention four blocks from the Metropolitan Avenue subway stop as an L train alternative. It is also a short walk from the dining, shopping, and nightlife of Bedford Avenue.
